UNDER THE SIGN OF SATURNism
Letterpress poster
In the past year I began to work more and more
with lead types and letterpress; so I had the idea
to make this poster, a semi-ironic reflection about
the choice of using traditional and potentially
dangerous techniques nowadays, as if being sort
of predestined. Saturnism is lead poisoning,
a typographer's professional illness.

I realized the illustration by hand composing a found piece of ASCII art with a lead monospaced typeface.

Composed with ATF Remington 8 and 10 pt and Nebiolo Landi 28 pt typefaces; printed with an Asbern AD-1 proof press on Fedrigoni Sirio Dark Blue 180 g/m² paper.
100 numbered copies, 35x50 cm.
